Artist: Kitagawa HidemaroSubject: Courtesans with kamuroDate: circa 1810Format: ObanStudent of Utamaro. Two sheets of a triptych.
Good color and impression. Backed with old Japanese paper, some rubbed areas - see images. The color preservation on this print is excellent, perfect for any collector who wants to learn what real coloring pigments should look like from Edo period ukiyo-e prints after over two hundred years. Purple is the most fugitive of colors seen in Japanese prints. This print was kept out of sunlight and exposure for a large amount of it's life.
