Shoki, "The Demon Queller", The ghost protector of Emperor Ming Hwang beats a trouble-some oni(ghost). A popular subject in Japanese folklore, Shoki, is commonly depicted in Chinese military garb, with the characteristic Chinese hat, a billowing robe and streamers, and a large double-edged long sword. One of three "Shoki" designs by Kuniyoshi.
